Sausage & Chestnut Stuffing

lb. country turkey sausage

1

cup chopped roasted whole chestnuts

tblsp butter

1

cup chopped onion

1/2

cup chopped celery

1/2

chopped or shredded carrot

1/2

tsp salt

1

tsp dried thyme

1

tsp marjoram

1

tsp sage

1

tsp pepper

cups soft bread crumbs

cups clear chicken or turkey broth

 

1.) Brown turkey sausage in a large dutch oven
over medium high heat. 
2.) Reduce heat to medium low and add butter.
Stir until melted. 
3.) Add celery, carrot, salt, thyme, marjoram,
sage, & pepper & cook for approximately
10 minutes. 
4.) Add chestnuts.  Add chicken broth & stir.
5.) Gradually add bread crumbs and stir until
well combined.
Serve. 

OR
You can place in a lightly buttered baking pan & brush the top with melted butter
And bake at 350 degrees for approximately 30 minutes.
