 Italian-style boneless and skinless chicken breast halves

​

Ingredients:
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish

 

Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. In a shallow dish, combine the flour, salt, black pepper, dried oregano, dried basil, and garlic powder.
3. Dredge each chicken breast half in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
4. Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
5. Add the chicken breasts to the skillet and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
6. Remove the skillet from the heat and spoon marinara sauce over each chicken breast.
7. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the chicken breasts.
8. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
9. Remove from the oven and let the chicken rest for a few minutes.
10. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.

 

Serve the Italian-style chicken breast halves with your choice of sides, such as pasta,
salad, or roasted vegetables.
